Il Fiorano Rosso della Tenuta di Fiorano su Spirito diVino Asia

Fiorano Rosso

Da Spirito diVino Asia,  no. 31, “The favourite wines of an Auctioneer!”, a firma Raimondo Romani

“My life has intersected with the life of Prince Alessandrojacopo Boncompagni Ludovisi many times, ever since our youth. We attended the same school il Rome and later I met Alessandro quite often at Old Master Painting auctions. But is only thanks to Fiorano – a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot produced in Rome – that we built a precious friendship. Since Gelardini & Romani started auctioning fine wines we were always looking for some bottles of the mythical Fiorano Rosso since Prince Alberico Boncompagni Ludovisi uprooted all the vines in 1995, Fiorano had became a lost wine. I was more than enthusiastic and I offered Alessandro all my support to make Fiorano great again when, with the release of the 2006 vintage, I came to know that he had resurrected the greatest red wine of Rome! In fact Fiorano was the first Italian Bordeaux blend released. Fiorano is an extremely elegant wine with a strong personality, thanks to a volcanic soil and the use of 1000 liter Slavonian barrels or botti instead of the classic 225 liter barriques.”
